Bonifácio Aurio, widely known as Mr. Tuffas, is an internationally acclaimed dancer, artist, and cultural ambassador, born in Huambo, Angola. From an early age, his deep connection to the arts–especially music and dance–set the foundation for a remarkable career that continues to evolve across continents.
Starting out as a self-taught street dancer performing at local events, Bonifácio honed his craft through dedication and formal training, transforming natural talent into world-class artistry. His breakthrough came in 2011 when he entered the National Kizomba Competition in Luanda. After placing fourth in his first attempt, he returned the following year with even greater determination–winning the competition and earning a place at the prestigious África Dançar competition in Lisbon, where he was crowned champion on an international stage.
Since 2012, Bonifácio has been based in Lisbon, balancing a dynamic global dance career with academic studies in International Relations and Political Science. Affectionately known as the "Eternal World Kizomba Champion", he has become one of the leading ambassadors of Angolan culture, sharing Kizomba and Semba with audiences worldwide.
His teaching and performances have taken him across the globe, including the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, France, Holland, Singapore, Australia, India, Finland, Italy, Spain, and Portugal–using dance as a powerful vehicle for cultural connection.
