Sarah Amaro

Sarah Amaro

Sarah Amaro is an internationally respected Kizomba and Semba artist whose talent, cultural depth, and distinctive Ginga have made her one of the most admired dancers in the world. With roots in Portugal and Congo, Sarah embodies the essence of Kizomba’s heritage, bringing authenticity, elegance, and power to every movement.

Her professional journey began in 2008 at the renowned Kizombalove Academy in Belgium, where she trained under the José N’dongala Kizombalove Methodology. There, Sarah refined her signature Ginga and quickly distinguished herself as not only an exceptional dancer but also a gifted instructor. Today, she trains future Kizomba teachers, passing on the knowledge, technique, and cultural respect that define her work.

In partnership with Frans, she has continued to elevate the art of Kizomba through world-class choreography, high-quality video productions, and captivating performances featured at top festivals across Europe, Australia, and beyond. In 2014, the pair were entrusted by their master, José N’dongala, with the leadership of the Kizombalove Academy—an honor that reflects their dedication to preserving and promoting the true essence of Kizomba.

Balancing her roles as an artist, instructor, choreographer, and mother of three, Sarah brings heart, discipline, and authenticity to everything she does. Her influence reaches dancers around the globe, and her contribution to the Kizomba community continues to inspire a new generation of artists.
