DJ Ellen

Music and dance have always been at the heart of my journey. I began dancing Salsa in 2000, followed by Brazilian Zouk in 2003, and soon after started assisting and teaching both styles. 

My path as a DJ began unexpectedly in 2008, when two of my students - who had always enjoyed the music I played in class - invited me to DJ at their events. Although I had no prior experience, I embraced the opportunity. My first gig was a success, leading to many more invitations and marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. 

Until 2010, I primarily played at Salsa and Brazilian Zouk events. That same year, I discovered Kizomba after watching a captivating demo by Kwenda Lima and Iris de Brito. I was instantly hooked by both the music and the dance, which inspired me to explore the genre more deeply. By 2011, I had begun incorporating Kizomba into my sets, becoming the first female Kizomba DJ in the Netherlands.

Today, I perform at both national and international events, and nothing brings me more joy than sharing my passion for music with others. I love DJing and it truly makes me happy!
