Klaudio Hoshai

Singer, Composer, Guitarist

Klaudio Hoshai is an Angolan singer, composer, and guitarist internationally recognised for his hit “Pió Pió”, an anthem of the global Kizomba scene. His musical journey began at 17 in a church choir, where he first explored singing and composition—initially through rap.

In 2007, he competed in Stars to the Stage, Angola’s most popular imitation contest, and returned the following year as a jury member. While still a high school student of History and Geography, Klaudio taught guitar at UNAC (Union of Artists and Composers) in Malanje. Even before releasing his own singles, he was already composing for renowned artists including Pérola, Celma Ribas, Maya Cool, Puto Português, Abude, and Tamara Nzage.

In 2020, he joined the prestigious Angola45 project, performing and writing alongside iconic Angolan and international stars such as Bonga, Eduardo Paim, Yola Semedo, Jean Phillippe Marthely, Don Kikas, Kyaku Kyadaff, and Sérgio Belera. Shortly after, he pursued advanced music studies in Paris.

Now based in Lisbon, Klaudio Hoshai is quickly establishing himself as a rising voice on the international stage. In less than a year, he has appeared in the media more than 40 times across Portugal, Angola, and France, with growing invitations to TV and radio in Cape Verde and beyond.

In 2023, he embarked on a European tour, performing at festivals in France, Italy, Poland, and the Netherlands, celebrating Kizomba, Semba, and Angolan culture. The tour continued into 2024, with performances in Switzerland and multiple shows across Portugal, including Lisbon, Porto, Chaves, and Cascais.

Highlights included a groundbreaking concert for the Latin American market, blending African and Latin rhythms with artists from Chile and Nicaragua, and a special performance at the 20th anniversary gala of Miss Portugal-Angola at Casino Estoril. Klaudio has also headlined two sold-out concerts at Lisbon’s legendary club B.Leza, where he performed his original works alongside Angolan Semba classics in three national languages. He returned to B.Leza in June 2024.

Klaudio Hoshai’s voice is his signature. With a hoarse, soulful timbre, he brings deep emotion to every note, moving audiences with each performance. A versatile musician, he often sings while playing guitar, weaving harmony and melody simultaneously.

His repertoire spans original Semba compositions, reimagined Angolan classics, and fusions of soul, blues, and Afro-jazz, while also experimenting with Zouk and Kuduro. Every concert is a journey—through time, culture, and sound.

Klaudio Hoshai has released several songs to date. His breakout single “Pió Pió” (2017) remains a fan favourite worldwide. His discography also includes:

Singing in Portuguese and Angola’s national languages—Kimbundu, Umbundu, and Kikongo—Klaudio connects deeply with diverse audiences. His authenticity, warm stage presence, and emotional interpretations invite listeners on an immersive journey through the heart of Angolan music.
