Manon Batrel is a French dancer and instructor specialising in Kizomba and Semba. Her dance journey began at the age of 6 with ballet, which she pursued until she was 12. She then transitioned to African dance styles like Coupé-Décalé from Ivory Coast and Ndombolo from Congo.
In 2012, Manon discovered Kizomba under the guidance of her teacher, Mervil Kiavue, in Brest, France. This sparked an intensive period of training and exploration, where she honed her skills and developed a unique style influenced by her teacher and other prominent artists in the field.
In 2017, Manon relocated to London, where she began teaching Kizomba not only in the city, but also across the UK and Europe. Her expertise and passion for the dance quickly gained recognition, leading her to share her knowledge and enthusiasm for Kizomba & Semba with students throughout the continent.
In 2020, she founded London Kizomba School, offering weekly classes, private sessions, workshops and parties. The school has become a hub for quality Kizomba instruction in London, featuring collaborations with other talented teachers.
Today, Manon teaches world-wide alongside her partner, Rico Suave, continuing to inspire and share her deep passion for Kizomba and Semba with students everywhere.
