Rabbil

Rabbil : A Story of Resilience , power & reinvention.

Born in Burundi in 1992, Rabbil grew up in a family of ten children in an environment shaped by ambition, tradition & unpredictability. His parents were businesspeople and his grandfather worked closely with royalty. From an early age, he inherited a sense of pride, discipline, and deep respect for history.

As a child, Rabbil was turbulent, strong-willed, and restless. He questioned authority and resisted limitations. His intensity was often misunderstood, yet beneath that fire lived a sensitive and perceptive boy searching for stability and meaning.

At the age of 19, he discovered Latin dances through Salsa and Bachata. In 2015, he moved to Rwanda, a turning point that would redefine his life. What began as curiosity quickly became devotion. His passion for Kizomba grew intensely, even though access to authentic resources was limited. Determined to learn, he invested his own money to receive instructional videos from Angolan dancers. He studied tirelessly, absorbing not only the technique but also the history and cultural depth behind the dance.

He began teaching, then organizing events. What started as small parties soon evolved into larger gatherings, and eventually he created one of Rwanda’s early dance festivals, contributing to the growth of the local scene and connecting communities through music.

Political instability in Burundi forced him to leave his homeland and seek refuge. Becoming a political refugee was another unexpected chapter in his life, but it did not break his vision. Instead, it strengthened his purpose. Dance was no longer just passion. It became identity and mission.

Almost 8 years ago, he moved to Brussels, Belgium, where he began again from zero. He trained continuously and reinvested every earning into teacher trainings and self-development. His love for history, music, and authenticity shaped his teaching style, blending cultural awareness with technical depth.

Two years after arriving in Europe, he founded Kizomba Treat. The festival became more than an event. It became his bridge to home, a celebration of roots, and a powerful expression of his journey within the international Kizomba community.

Three years ago, he met his current dance partner, who would later become his wife. She first approached him as a student. Over time, mentorship evolved into artistic partnership, and partnership blossomed into love. Today they travel the world teaching together, combining technique, musicality, history, and emotional depth.

Rabbil’s story is one of transformation. From a turbulent child to a grounded leader. From instability to vision. From survival to legacy.

His life continues to move to the dance of resilience & love.
