Richard Voogt is a London-based Kizomba instructor, principal dancer, and promoter. Originally from South Africa, Richard discovered social dance while studying at university before moving to the US, where he immersed himself in Kizomba, Semba, and Afrohouse culture.
In 2015, Richard relocated to the UK and founded Rhythm & Vibes Dance Company (formerly Dsantos Dance UK), growing it into a leading dance school and cultural organization dedicated to Afro-Latin and Lusophone music and dance. He is also the organizer behind Drena, one of London’s flagship monthly Afro-Latin parties featuring dedicated rooms for Kizomba, Salsa, and Bachata.
Recognized by Arts Council England for his contribution to culture, Richard continues to teach regular weekly classes, host major events, and travel internationally to deliver workshops, sharing his passion for connection, community, and social dance culture.
